There may not be a more exciting player in Europe at the moment than Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

You would be forgiven for not knowing too much about Kvaratskhelia – widely known as just Kvara, but if you’re a fan of European football, this is a player who is certainly on your radar right now.

Kvara is ripping it up for Napoli, he has seven goals and six assists to his name this season as the Neapolitan outfit top the Serie A table.

If the Ballon d’Or for this season was held tomorrow, Kvara would certainly be on the podium, and it’s not too surprising to hear that he’s attracting interest from Europe’s elite already.

According to 90Min, Real Madrid and PSG are keen as are Liverpool and Manchester City, and while all of those clubs are keen, we feel that City may be favourites.

Not only are City one of the richest and most successful clubs in Europe, but Kvaratskhelia also has a bit of an emotional connection to the Sky Blues.

Indeed, according to 90Min, The young Georgian grew up idolising his fellow countryman Georgi Kinkladze, a player who, of course, made his name at Man City in the 90s.

There’s certainly a huge element of romanticism around Kvaratskhelia ending up at City and emulating Kinkladze, and in a lot of ways, they’re similar players – slick dribblers who always have you on the edge of your seat waiting for a moment of utter magic.

Kvara will certainly be tempted by the chance to follow in his hero’s footsteps, and it won’t be hard for City to sell him that dream. Just imagine how the die-hard City fans will take to Kvara if he joins the club, we can already see the banners hailing the second-coming of Kinkladze – a player who is still revered in Manchester to this day.

Liverpool may want the ‘special’ winger, but if he is to come to England, surely City will be his first choice.
