Alisson has been a massive player for Liverpool these past few years.
It’s no coincidence that once Jurgen Klopp signed the Brazil goalkeeper, Liverpool have started being successful.
The Reds won a Champions League title in Alisson’s first season at Anfield and followed it up with a Premier League crown a year later.
He cost a hefty £66 million in 2018, but he’s been worth every penny.
That’s because not only is he brilliant on the pitch, but Alisson is influential away from the field, too.
Young Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros, who’s on loan in Ireland right now, has revealed to Goal that the South American helped him behind the scenes at Kirkby, adding that he’s been so impressed by the big man’s form in training.
He said: “Ali has no ego whatsoever. I remember my first session with him, and he was just sound! He came straight over, asked me how I was doing, where I was from, all that. It puts you at ease straight away.
“Ali was definitely one [who impressed him]. He’s just an all-round great keeper. You watch him and there’s no weakness, he’s got everything. His shot-stopping, the way he plays out, his calmness and his positioning.”
Well stocked
Even at 20, it’ll be very difficult for Jaros to break into Klopp’s senior squad in the near future.
At 28, Alisson hasn’t even peaked as a goalkeeper yet, which is frightening.
But behind him in the pecking order there’s Caoimhin Keller and Marcelo Pitaluga, two highly-rated youngsters.
The Merseysiders are certainly well stocked with regards to goalkeepers.
Having said that, Alisson wasn’t a household name at 20 years old and Jaros should take that as a major source of inspiration.
