Gary Lineker took to Twitter after Leicester conceded yet another corner in their 6-2 defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League earlier today.

What’s the story?

Well, the BBC Match of the Day host – who supports the Foxes – was stunned as Leicester allowed Eric Dier to rise highest in the 21st minute to nod home a corner, won against all odds by the admirable graft of Richarlison.

Brendan Rodgers has been unable to prevent his side shipping goals from corners, a problem which was even present throughout last season as well.

Leicester have recently hired a set-piece coach in Lars Knudsen to help them with their issues, but after seeing the Foxes fail to deal with yet another corner, Lineker turned to humour to help him cope.

For most Leicester fans, they will need to laugh, or else they may cry – it is starting to feel like a penalty for the opposition whenever they win a corner against this Foxes side.

Rodgers almost saw his side concede two corners against Tottenham, but Simon Hooper adjudged Davinson Sanchez to have fouled Danny Ward midway through the first half as the ball bobbled in.

In our view, it was a soft decision.

Leicester problems were evident against Tottenham

We don’t like to single one player out, as it is clearly a collective issue with Leicester at the moment after a number of key departures and little investment during the transfer window.

However, Danny Ward is starting to evoke panic into this Leicester side.

The Wales international – as aforesaid – got away with a lack of aerial dominance when challenged by Sanchez, although he looked unconvincing throughout when attempting to control his area.

Additionally, Ward also doesn’t seem too comfortable with the ball at his feet, and was almost caught in possession on his goal line by Dejan Kulusevski at one stage.

Whatever Rodgers decides to change after today’s 6-2 defeat, he needs to do something – and fast.
