Reported Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur target Jonathan Ikone has no interest in leaving Lille before the transfer window shuts in October, his representatives have told La Voix du Nord.

Les Dogues have a fine track record when it comes to buying talented young forwards and selling them on for an almighty profit.

And, earlier in the year, there appeared to be a real chance Ikone would soon follow in the footsteps of Eden Hazard, Nicolas Pepe, Victor Osimhen and co after shining in Ligue 1 and forcing his way into Didier Deschamps’ France squad.

Le10 Sport stated in August that Leicester were big fans of the left-footed right winger, who idolises Foxes legend Riyad Mahrez.

But, after just two years at Lille, the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster is in no rush to pack his bags and head across the Channel.

“Jonathan’s goal has never been to leave this year. We never spoke with another club. There’s no point in rushing,” his representative says.

Le10 Sport claimed in July that Ikone also had admirers at Newcastle and Spurs, although both clubs appear to have changed tack since.

Tottenham are focusing on signing a centre-forward, with the likes of Arkadiusz Milik, Bas Dost and the 6ft 6in Wout Weghorst feeling like classic Mourinho frontmen.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have prioritised tried and trusted Premier League performers rather than expensive imports.

Le10 Sport claims Lille value Ikone at a staggering £60 million.
