Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi didn’t have his best game against Tottenham Hotspur last night.

Iwobi, who joined Everton from Arsenal in a £35 million deal in 2019, helped the Toffees to an FA Cup victory over Spurs.

The Goodison Park club won a pulsating clash 5-4 after extra time but really, the Nigeria international struggled.

Despite being an attacking player, there wasn’t much creativity from Iwobi out wide and Carlo Ancelotti hooked him after 70 minutes.

Since joining the Blues, Iwobi, who began his career at Arsenal, has managed only four goals and four assists from well over 50 games in all competitions.

Here’s how fans of the North London side reacted to his display against Tottenham:

Former Gunners chief Raul Sanllehi gets a bad rep but the £35 million he got the Emirates Stadium club for Iwobi really was a fine piece of business.

There’s no denying that Iwobi has talent, because Ancelotti has three Champions League titles to his name and therefore he kind of knows what he’s talking about.

But there’s also no doubt that for an attacking player, he needs to do more and it’ll be interesting to see if the legendary Italian coach can mould him into a more dangerous asset.
