Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is already facing a backlash after failing to keep Rafael Benitez.

Newcastle are on the look out for a new manager following Benitez’s departure, and a number of names have been linked.
Vieira is thought to be one of the leading candidates, but Ashley is said to be ‘unlikely’ to want to pay big money to land the Frenchman.
A similar problem exists with many of Newcastle’s potential options, as Sean Dyche would cost £10 million to get from Burnley and Manchester City would want a fee for Mikel Arteta.
Ashley may have to bite the bullet and pay up for Newcastle’s next manager though, as the out of work options look so uninspiring.
David Moyes, Garry Monk and Mark Hughes are suggested by the Northern Echo as free agent options for Newcastle, but if any were placed in charge then the bad feeling around St. James’ Park would only become even more extreme.

Newcastle surely cannot go and replace the popular Benitez with one of the old guard, who are looking increasingly out of date in modern football.
Ashley is unlikely to ever win the fans over at Newcastle, and his failure to keep Benitez will never be forgiven.
However, for the good of the club, Ashley simply must pay up and show some ambition with his next managerial appointment.
