What a performance as Liverpool beat Southampton 4-0 this evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side hammered the Saints at Anfield, one week after beating Arsenal by the same scoreline.

Since losing to West Ham before the international break, Liverpool have been absolutely immense.

Despite the scoreline, Ralph Hasenhutt’s side still had their chances but failed to convert them.

That’s quite a contrast to the Reds who were completely ruthless in front of goal when they needed to be.

And speaking after the game, Hasenhuttl admitted that was the difference, while singling out Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson for some praise.

He said: “There’s always a good goalkeeper in the goal. He made a few good saves. We had good moments to score and yeah, you can see the difference. It’s absolutely unbelievable how they played.”

Alisson, a £66 million signing in 2018, is one of the best in the business.

And the Saints boss will know that even when Liverpool’s back four is breached, they still have to beat the big Brazilian.

Overall, facing Klopp’s side away from home these days is a very unenviable task, isn’t it?

The Anfield side are one point behind top-of-the-table Chelsea, who host Manchester United tomorrow.

Chelsea have been superb this season but, honestly, Thomas Tuchel’s side ought to be wary of Liverpool.

They’re playing like Premier League champions.
