Leeds United have had absolutely no luck with injuries this season.

From Illan Meslier to Joe Gelhardt, almost every single player in the Leeds United squad has been injured at one point or another.

One of the most notable long-term absentees this season has been Patrick Bamford. The striker has missed the vast majority of matches this campaign and his absence has been felt as Leeds have struggled in front of goal.

However, according to Phil Hay on his podcast, there could be some good news regarding Bamford on the horizon.

What’s been said?

Hay said that Bamford could be back fit for Leeds’ final games of the season.

“Something tells me that if Bamford is going to be fit for the last couple of games, he’s going to be needed, and there is a chance he will be fit for those, he was due to be back out on the grass this week, so if there was any thought of taking a gamble on him, it’s got to be done,” Hay said.

Huge

It’s almost impossible to overstate just how much of a boost this is for Leeds.

If the Whites are going to stay up, they’ll need to put the ball in the back of the net, and Bamford’s return will certainly help in that department.

The striker netted no fewer than 17 league goals last season, and if he can even score one or two in these final games of the season, that could be the difference between promotion and relegation for Leeds.

Bamford’s return could define where Leeds finish this season, and, to be honest it’s about time that United had some good luck on the injury front.
