‘There will be uproar’: Some Aston Villa fans rage at potential news about Leeds player today

Aston Villa fans are fuming at the rumours that Leeds United defender Luke Ayling might get an England call today.

The Guardian claim that Leeds duo Patrick Bamford and Ayling might be handed debut calls from their country.

If Ayling gets the nod then some Aston Villa fans feel one of their own, Matty Cash, should be ahead of the 29-year-old.

Both have had outstanding campaigns in the Premier League this season, and in truth, both would be deserving if they got that call from Gareth Southgate.

Cash is returning from injury and was on the bench for Villa during their 1-1 draw at Newcastle last Friday.

Along with Ayling, this is Cash’s first full season in England’s top-flight and they have both taken it like a duck to water.

But Villa fans clearly feel their player has outperformed the versatile defender, who has also been deployed at centre-back by Marcelo Bielsa this season.

As per, when Southgate names his squad in a few hours time, whilst the regulars Harry Kane, Harry Maguire, Declan Rice, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Ben Chilwell will be picked.

There will, as always, be more talk about those who miss out compared to those who are in the squad.
