Leeds United snapped up Oliver Sarkic from Benfica last month.

Recent Leeds United signing Oliver Sarkic has told The Independent that he felt ‘there was no better step than Leeds’ as he chased a ‘dream’ move to England.
Whilst Leeds focused on the signing of Pierre-Michel Lasogga late in the transfer window, they also continued their youth recruitment drive.
Over the summer, Leeds brought in a host of young players from England and around the world, with Alejandro Machuca, Adrian Balboa, Oriol Rey, Kun Temenuzhkov, Bryce Hosannah, Hugo Diaz and Ousama Siddiki all arriving at Elland Road.

Leeds added one more youngster in September, as Benfica’s Oliver Sarkic became the club’s newest signing last month, penning a half-season loan deal in West Yorkshire.
Sarkic, 20, was formerly in the Anderlecht youth ranks before joining Benfica in 2014, where he has yet to make his first-team debut, but has been a regular for their B team.
After a loan spell with Fafe earlier this year, Sarkic has now joined Leeds, and will be hoping to make an impression on manager Thomas Christiansen over the course of his stay at Elland Road.

Now, Montenegrin youth international Sarkic has told The Independent that English football was his dream, and he decided to give it a shot when Leeds registered their interest.
Sarkic claims that there was ‘no better step’ than joining Leeds, praising their ‘amazing’ facilities and great history, noting that it’s a hard-working club with big ambitions.
“I decided to give a shot to English football, my dream,” said Sarkic. “And there was no better step than Leeds for me. The facilities are amazing, the club has a great history, the coaches know what they’re doing. It’s a hard-working club working towards its goals,” he added.
