Leeds United have been linked with Aston Villa forward Ross McCormack.

Leeds United moving for Ross McCormack now makes absolutely no sense, as he cannot play for another English club this season.
As McCormack has already played for two sides this term, he cannot represent another team.
And that means that Leeds need to look elsewhere, rather than aim for a fairytale reunion with the 31-year-old, as they have been tipped to do in The Sun (printed edition, 23rd January, page 55).

There has been plenty of times when McCormack returning to Leeds would have been hugely appealing, but right now it is not a worthwhile move.
Leeds need a striker for the here and now, not six months down the road.
The Whites are gunning for promotion, and to miss out on a top six spot, because they have been unable to utilise McCormack would be foolish.

Leeds are, therefore, far better off spending their budget on a striker who can come in and immediately lead their line.
Thomas Christiansen’s side can reconsider signing McCormack in the summer, when he would be eligible once again.
But, right now, Leeds moving for McCormack makes no sense whatsoever and the Yorkshire side should not even be contemplating a reunion.
