Clinton Morrison has told BBC Sport that Arsenal will not finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

The former Crystal Palace forward, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, made the prediction following Arsenal’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

The Gunners suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Morrison told BBC Sport: “At the moment Mikel Arteta is not getting the best out of his players, do I think it will change, yes I do. Arsenal will not finish in the top four this season, there is no chance, it is going to be a struggle and a rebuilding.

“We knew that though, it was always going to take two or three years to come in and let Arteta get in the players that he wants and last season he came in and did a good job but this season is going to be much more difficult for him.”

Too early to make such a bold claim

While it does look that Arsenal have a very hard task of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season, it is too early to write them off.

After all, it is only the beginning of December, and there are a lot of games left to be played this season.

True, Arsenal are not having the best of seasons, but the Gunners have some superb footballers, such as Gabriel, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal fans should stay optimistic that the team will recover and start winning matches on a regular basis soon.
