Chris Sutton questioned on 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live whether Marcelo Bielsa will be at Leeds next season claiming ‘there is a lot of talk’.
The former striker was talking to a Leeds supporter during a phone-in, with the fan making it clear that Bielsa has ‘proved his point’ by staying as long as he has at Elland Road.
But the Times have reported that Leeds have approached Massimiliano Allegri to potentially replace Bielsa, with the Argentinian yet to commit his future to the club.
Nonetheless, this is what Sutton had to say to a Leeds supporter about Bielsa, with his response.
“Are you sure Bielsa is going to be there next season,” Sutton asked a Leeds fan. “100%, are you?
“There is a lot of talk about this in fairness, isn’t there? He has never stayed anywhere else as long, though.”
The Leeds fan responded by saying: “I watch every press conference of Bielsa’s and the most heart-warming one is the one where he said ‘he plans every day like he’s going to be here for the rest of his life’.
“And I think what people need to realise is that he prefers to have a one-year contract because of his age – he has proved his point of staying with Leeds. He said he loves Yorkshire. He loves the culture and the people.”

This is the longest period Bielsa has spent at a single club during his managerial career and it’s one that is working wonders.
It would be a surprise if he isn’t crouching down on the Elland Road touchline next season because there isn’t anything to suggest he won’t pen down another one-year deal.
Plus, it seems fitting that these Leeds players, with Bielsa on the touchline, deserve a reception from the fans once they are allowed back into the grounds.
