Some Everton fans on social media have been reacting to Marcel Brands’ admission that Everton aren’t expecting to make any signings this month.
The Toffees have been linked with a number of new additions this month, but it seems as though they’re not going to do anything.
Everton are apparently keen on bringing a right-back in this summer, but this month is set to be very quiet.
As you can imagine, fans online weren’t best pleased with this news.
Indeed, the feeling amongst the fanbase is that the club are making a mistake, as supporters are claiming that Everton need some fresh faces, with many pointing towards the striker position as an area that needs bolstering.
To be fair, you can see where they’re coming from. Everton have started brilliantly this season, and if they can sustain this level of performance they’ve got a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
The striker position is an interesting one, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are obviously brilliant, but beyond those two there isn’t much depth, and an injury could easily derail the Toffees’ season.
