‘There are offers’: £34m Arsenal & West Ham target issues bombshell

RC Lens captain Seko Fofana has admitted that there have been offers this summer with the Arsenal and West Ham target also revealing that he could sign for a new club in the final days of the transfer window.

Speaking to Canal+ via GFFN, the Ivory Coast international said there is a chance he could leave Lens next week should a suitable offer come in for the 27-year-old midfielder, with the Ligue 1 side only open to selling their star player for €40m (£34m).

Fofana has been one of the best players in Ligue 1 over the past two seasons with the midfielder playing a huge role in Lens’ stunning rise up the French league system, and the likes of Arsenal and West Ham are reportedly interested in signing the former Manchester City academy star this summer.

Indeed, signing Fofana this late in the window will be difficult for either Arsenal or West Ham, yet according to the midfielder himself, there is always a chance that a late transfer could happen, with the Premier League an ideal next step for the Ivorian superstar.

The Lens captain said: “There are five days left to think and see what decision to make. As long as I’m on the pitch, I am happy because I know I will be able to express myself and give the maximum. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We will see. Everything is possible in these last five days.”

Fofana added when asked if there had been offers to leave Lens already this summer: “There are offers, some possibilities. I need to think about them with my entourage. The club knows what I expect. Today I’m just enjoying the moment.”

Arsenal and West Ham will still struggle to sign Fofana this summer

Fofana might be one of the most in-demand players in Europe this summer, yet signing the midfielder from Lens will still be a challenge for the likes of Arsenal and West Ham given how much the French club want for their star player and how little time is left to conclude a deal.

After all, Fofana is captain for one of the most exciting and ambitious sides in Europe, and whilst a transfer could happen in the final days of the window, it would take some effort from the likes of Arsenal and West Ham to sign the 27-year-old at this stage of the window.
