Theo Walcott has completed his transfer from Arsenal to Everton – and reportedly chosen his squad number.

Everton have confirmed that the 28-year-old forward, who underwent a medical yesterday, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the club, following what Sky Sports understands to be a transfer worth £20m.
The leading news outlet understand that Walcott has chosen the squad number 11 at Goodison Park, which has recently been vacated by Kevin Mirallas who has moved to Olympiacos on loan for the remainder of the season.

Strangely, Walcott becomes the third player to take on this jersey number when joining the Toffees from Arsenal, and he will be hoping to fare better than predecessors Anders Limpar and Francis Jeffers.
Swedish midfielder Limpar did win the 1995 FA Cup while at Everton, but left 18 months later after a row with then-manager Joe Royle, according to the club’s official website, while homegrown striker Jeffers managed only two goals in 22 appearances in his second spell on Merseyside, having originally left to join Arsenal in 2002.

Other former owners of Everton’s undistinguished No.11 shirt include strikers Jo and Denis Stracqualursi.
Most of Walcott’s 397 appearances for the Gunners, in which he scored 108 goals, came in the No.14 shirt which he inherited from the legendary Thierry Henry, although he did start his career at the Emirates wearing No.32.
