The Everton winger scored away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Theo Walcott has told Everton’s official website that he couldn’t hear Tottenham Hotspur fans in North London on Sunday due to the travelling Toffees.
Everton rounded off their season with a good point away to Tottenham.
Thousands of Toffees supporters made the trip to London for the game, which ended 2-2.
Marco Silva’s side enjoyed a brilliant end to the season, losing once in their last eight games – a run of fixtures that included games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Blues beat all of them.
On the flip side, there were some disappointing spells for Silva in his first season in charge, but Walcott, who scored at Tottenham, says that how the fans’ stuck by the team spoke volumes.
He told the club’s official website: “The fans have been fantastic home and away throughout the whole season. They are that part of the puzzle that we need in the team.
“They’ve been brilliant, even when we’ve had some difficult periods.
“Against Spurs, they came in their numbers and at times I didn’t even hear the Tottenham fans, they were that loud. I’m sure they enjoyed their day.
Walcott, a former Arsenal man, also admitted after the game that he was impressed by the Lilywhites’ new stadium.
The 30-year-old attacker ended his first full season at Everton with five goals from 37 Premier League outings.
