Theo Walcott has raved about Chelsea defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia and said that he is a very good player.
The former Arsenal and Southampton forward has said on The Overlap that Chelsea defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia is very sharp and is one to keep an eye out for years to come.
Walcott played with Lavia at Southampton.
The 34-year-old had a loan spell at Southampton from Everton in 2020-21 before making the deal permanent.
Walcott announced his retirement from football last month.
Lavia played for Southampton last season after joining from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

The 19-year-old defensive midfielder moved to Chelsea from the Saints in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea paid Southampton £115 million in transfer fees for Lavia, who is earning £100,000 per week in wages.

Walcott said about Lavia: “He is sharp, good on the ball, very good player, one to keep an eye out for many years, I would say.”
Lavia is a very young player, but he has a lot of potential and could develop into a world-class footballer in the coming years.
The Belgium international is only 19 now and is far from the finished article.
However, the teenager showed last season what he is capable of when he is played regularly and to his strengths.
Although Southampton got relegated to the Championship, Lavia emerged as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
Lavia has made 29 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The defensive midfielder has scored one goal in those games.
