Theo Walcott has swatted away Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of winning the Premier League on Sky Sports News (10pm, 05/10/2020).
Harry Redknapp was on the programme and claimed that he felt Tottenham could actually come out on top this season.
But Walcott, who sealed a deadline day switch from Everton to Southampton, claimed that he didn’t believe Spurs were genuine title contenders.
“Ah no, I feel like Tottenham are a bit away from it yet,” the former Arsenal forward said, when told about Redknapp’s prediction.
Despite Walcott’s doubts, for him to even be posed with the question shows how optimism levels are growing at Tottenham.
Since an opening day defeat to Everton, Spurs have been in wonderful form and have looked a real threat.
Tottenham’s latest 6-1 win over Manchester United is their finest under Jose Mourinho so far, and they seem to be going from strength to strength.

With both Manchester City and Liverpool suffering with defensive issues, there is a feeling that the Premier League could be more open than ever this season.
And Tottenham will hope to be right in the battle for silverware at the end of the campaign, after taking seven points from their first four games.
