Theo Walcott has taken to Twitter after Everton’s draw with West Brom at Goodison Park on Saturday to comment on his Toffees debut after recently making the move to Merseyside.

Walcott was involved in one of the most notable deals of the January transfer window so far, as he made the move to Everton for a fee of £20 million – fee reported by the Daily Mail – after more than a decade with Arsenal.

The forward would have been hoping to steal the headlines in the contest with the Baggies. And while he did do his bit with a decent performance in the draw, the result was completely overshadowed by the devastating injury suffered by James McCarthy.

It was a hugely frustrating afternoon for the Everton fans, with many venting their anger towards the manager Sam Allardyce at various points, but Walcott helped ensure that they had something to smile about.

It was the 28-year-old who provided the assist that led to Oumar Niasse’s equaliser and his overall display suggested that he could prove to be a decent signing for the Toffees if he builds upon that first appearance.

And after the game, Walcott took to social media to comment on making his Everton debut.

The tweet from Walcott received a lot of responses from several Everton fans – as well as many Arsenal supporters wishing their former forward luck at his new club.

And the Toffees fans who commented on Walcott’s tweet were keen to praise the Englishman for his performance, suggesting that his display was one of the few positives that the Toffees could take from the game.

Here is the best of the reaction…
