Everton star Theo Walcott seems to rate Tom Davies highly.

Theo Walcott has been at Everton only since January 2018 when he joined from Arsenal, but the 29-year-old seems to have been hugely impressed with Tom Davies already, according to comments on the Toffees’ official website.

Walcott, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, has backed Davies to be a huge success in the future.

The England international told Everton’s official website: “Tom is one of those players who is very gifted and now it is about developing on what is his next level. I expect it to be very high, and the same with Dom and Jonjoe.”

Excitement for Everton fans

Everton fans should be excited about Davies, especially after reading Walcott’s aforementioned comments.

The 19-year-old needs to be more consistent, but there is no doubt that the teenager is a very promising and talented young midfielder.

The England Under-21 international made 20 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton this past season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

Everton are quite stocked in midfield, but Davies should be given chances nest season.

The Toffees endured a disappointing season in 2017-18 and will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League in 2018-19.
