Everton are said to be keen on Arsenal striker Theo Walcott, ahead of the January transfer window.
Theo Walcott should surely have realised that a move to Everton is now in his interest, after being omitted from Arsenal’s squad entirely last night.
Arsene Wenger rotated his team to play against West Ham United, but Walcott was not even in the 18-man squad which travelled to the London Stadium.
Conflicting reports over Walcott’s fitness have emerged, with the London Evening Standard suggesting he was fresh but Wenger felt he had better options elsewhere, and that should prove the final straw for the former Southampton man.
Walcott has been battling for his place in Arsenal’s team for some time, but he has now seen that he is no longer valued – and a move to Everton should be welcomed with open arms.
Walcott has actually got a very credible scoring record when given a chance by the Gunners, but his opportunities have been few and far between of late.
At Everton, though, he could become a key player again – and that simply has to be appealing.
