Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily Podcast, Robert Snodgrass has been waxing-lyrical about Arsenal ace Kieran Tierney.

Speaking to the BBC, the pundit was discussing the Scotland squad, and he says that Tierney should play in a more advanced role for Steve Clarke’s side.

Snodgrass is certainly a big fan of Tierney, claiming that he’s Arsenal’s best player.

What’s been said?

Snodgrass was speaking very highly of Tierney.

“I’ll be happy either way. I said it last time to you Connie. I’d move Tierney further forward, because for Arsenal, he’s their best player for me,” Snodgrass said.

Alan Hutton then gave his view on the dilemma at Scotland.

“I think a big thing about the three at the back was to get Robbo and Tierney in the same team, because you can’t leave them out. Genuinely you’d play one of them as an attacking threat.”

Arsenal’s best player?

While we all love Kieran Tierney, it’s hard to make a case for him being Arsenal’s best player.

Bukayo Saka was the Gunners’ Player of the Year this term, and while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had a poor season, his talents are still indisputable.

Tierney is certainly one of the London club’s most important players, but it’s certainly a point of contention as to whether or not he’s their best.

Snodgrass certainly believes he’s their top dog, but we have to imagine that the likes of Saka and Aubameyang would have something to say about that.
