The former Celtic right-back warned that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side will be remembered as “the worst team ever” if the Hoops win the Scottish Premiership title next season.
The Bhoys have won the league for the past nine years and are aiming to make it 10 in a row in 2020-21.
Lustig, who left Celtic for Genk in the summer of 2019, has warned Rangers that they have to win the title next season.
The Sweden international right-back said on BT Sport 1 (9:45pm, May 23, 2020), as transcribed by The Scottish Sun: “I think there’s going to be more pressure on the Rangers players next season.
“If they’re not going to win next year, they’re probably going to go down as the worst team ever in their history. It’s massive pressure for them.”
Rangers under huge pressure
Celtic have the best and strongest team in Scotland, and Neil Lennon’s side will be favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title next season.
Rangers will have to step up their game, as the Hoops winning the title for the 10th season in a row will be really humiliating for the Gers.
However, the Ibrox faithful should remain optimistic. Rangers do have a good team who pushed Celtic in the first half of the season, and if the Gers are able to maintain consistency, then they will give Lennon’s side a run for their money in 2020-21.
