Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the news that David Luiz could be out for weeks.

Luiz, who is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, did not play against Liverpool on Saturday evening due to injury.

The Gunners lost the Premier League game 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, and it now looks like their chances of finishing in the top four are over.

After the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that central defender Luiz could be out for weeks and may not play again this season.

The London Evening Standard quotes Arteta as saying: “We don’t know. There are a few possibilities on that – being a little bit more conservative with the treatment or having to go through a surgery.

“We are talking with the doctors right now to make the right decision on that. But it looks like he can be out for a few weeks at least.”

Luiz has moments when he makes bad mistakes, but the former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain star has been an important player for Arsenal during his time at the club and is a leader at the back for the Gunners.

According to WhoScored, the 33-year-old has made 16 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played seven times in the Europa League this season.

Some Arsenal fans have given their take on Luiz’s injury situation, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter:
