The worst passing teams in the Premier League so far: West Brom and Sunderland feature

With another international break upon us, it is time to take stock of how the Premier League teams are faring.

Manchester City lead the table after seven games with 18 points to their name, with Tottenham Hotspur hot on their heels with 17.

Arsenal and Liverpool are third and fourth, while Everton and Manchester United make up the rest of the top six.

We have already taken a look at the worst attacking teams so now it is time to find out who have been the best passing sides so far.

Sunderland manager David Moyes

West Bromwich Albion have managed the fewest accurate passes per game with a tally of 199, while Sunderland (218 per game) and Burnley (248 per game) are the other bottom two teams.

In the Baggies squad, it is youngster Sam Field who has the most accurate passes to his name with 31 per game across his two appearances. Jonny Evans and Darren Fletcher make up the rest of the top three.

Unsurprisingly Arsenal are the team to have played the fewest accurate long balls (151) while Sunderland are second bottom (156) and Manchester City and West Brom are the third lowest (196)

Burnley and Crystal Palace have managed the fewest through balls, with both sides failing to register one so far.

Sunderland have played the ball in defence the fewest times, with a tally of 759 back zone passes. West Brom and Burnley are the other two lowest in that regard.

Hull (586), West Brom (717) and Burnley (726) have managed the fewest final third passes so far.

Unsurprisingly those three teams also come out on top when it comes to the fewest successful final third passes.

The Tigers are again in the bottom three when it comes to key passes with a score of 36, while Sunderland have managed just 43 and Middlesbrough just 44.

Finally, it is the Baggies who have the worst passing accuracy having posted a score of 68% in their seven games so far.
