Watford were easily disposed of by a Norwich side who were officially relegated from the Premier League on the final whistle.
Watford 1-2 Gillingham Town (23rd August – EFL Cup second round)
Bradley Dack’s extra-time goal ensured League One side Gillingham dumped Watford out of the EFL Cup.
Liverpool 6-1 Watford (6th November – Premier League)
A rampant Liverpool performance saw Jurgen Klopp’s side put six past the Hornets at Anfield.

Worst performance
Southampton 2-0 Watford (13th January – Premier League)
Out-of-form Southampton cruised to victory over an uninspiring Watford side, thanks to goals from Shane Long and Dusan Tadic.
Burnley 2-0 Watford (26th September – Premier League)
It was a Monday night to forget as Burnley bossed the Hornets at Turf Moor.
Watford 0-1 Stoke (27th November – Premier League)
A lacklustre Watford performance allowed the Potters to take all three points in a dull affair. Matters were made worse by Miguel Britos’ late red card.

Worst moment
Manchester City’s late comeback
Watford looked set to begin 2016 with a memorable win over Manchester City until late goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Augero broke Hornets’ hearts.
Wembley defeat to Crystal Palace
Watford’s FA Cup run was a highlight of 2016, but losing out to a struggling Palace side was a disappointing way to end it. Connor Wickham’s winner gave Palace their second win over Watford at Wembley in recent years.
Nyom’s revenge
A section of Watford’s travelling supporters gave ex-Hornet Allan Nyom a tough time at the Hawthorns. The Cameroonian defender responded with an excellent performance and a passionate celebration in front of the Watford end after West Brom scored their third goal.

Underwhelming performer of the year
Allan Nyom
One of the reasons Nyom got this treatment from Watford fans was his underwhelming performances in the second half of the 2015/6 season. The right-back struggled at the end of his Watford career and was substituted off at half time in his final game against Norwich.
Odion Ighalo
Ighalo burst onto the Premier League scene with 14 goals at the start of the 2015/6 campaign. However, his form took a drastic downturn in 2016 and the Nigerian has only managed three league goals all year.
Mario Suarez
After his January move from Fiorentina, Suarez never got up to speed with the high intensity and physicality of the Premier League. The Spanish midfielder is now on loan at Valencia.
