Chris Sutton stated that Thomas Partey’s long-range effort during Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Everton on Monday night was ‘the worst of the weekend’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
The former striker stated that it was ‘some feat’ from Partey to hit his shot into the top tier of Everton’s stand.
At that stage of the game, Arsenal were yet to open the scoring through Martin Odegaard, who incidentally laid the ball for him to take his shot.
Partey hasn’t scored many goals since he swapped the colours of Atletico Madrid for Arsenal and that moment of play proved why.
This is what Sutton had to say about that effort by Partey, as he mocked the player’s effort.
“Let me say, to be honest, that was the worst shot of the weekend by a country mile,” said Sutton.
“Nothing can beat that. It is some feat to get the ball that high into the top tier.”

In the end, the Arsenal supporters won’t be bothered about that effort, but the performance of the team over the course of the 90 minutes last night.
That’s back-to-back away defeats for the Gunners and another game where they have taken the lead, but found themselves on the losing side.
Questions are being asked of Mikel Arteta, the club’s style of play, lack of fight to keep hold of such a lead and where they are headed in the long run.
This isn’t a case of Arteta being in charge for a few months, but a few years now and have the club really progressed since Unai Emery was sacked? The answer is quite simply no.
