Roy Keane thinks Aaron Ramsdale will now leave Arsenal in January after he was dethroned as Mikel Arteta’s number-one goalkeeper.
Arsenal brought in David Raya on-loan from Brentford this summer in a big sign that Mikel Arteta was going to make changes between the sticks.
It didn’t happen straight away, but last week, Aaron Ramsdale was dropped to the bench as David Raya started for Arsenal during their won over Everton at Goodison Park.
That continued in the Champions League against PSV, also against Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday, with Roy Keane stating in his typical ways ‘the world isn’t going to end’ with Aaron Ramsdale being omitted, as he told The Overlap.
There is every chance that the England goalkeeper does return to the starting XI on Wednesday night as Arsenal travel to Brentford for the League Cup.
Even if the £120k-a-week star (Spotrac) does start, it’s still pretty clear who is now Arsenal’s new number one.

Aaron Ramsdale’s Arsenal future
“You aren’t there to keep the players happy, are you?” said Keane. “He might go in January, that happens in football.
On Ian Wright saying he wants to see Ramsdale ‘get through this adversity’: “Get through what, Wrighty?! He has just been left out of the team. But that’s professional level. You obviously know him and you like him.
On Ramsdale knocking on Arteta’s door: “He won’t be the first or the last footballer to do that. He might move on in January and the world won’t come to an end.”

David Raya has started well
You have to say there has been extra pressure on Raya’s shoulders in recent weeks because of the noise around Ramsdale.
And, to be fair, the Spain international has faired well, including keeping two clean sheets during those three games.
But, of course, if that mistake hits the fan, then fans and the media will be ready to pile on Raya.
