The transfer merry-go-round between Arsenal, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund came to an end yesterday. After Michy Batshuayi went to Dortmund, after they failed to land Olivier Giroud, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was free to make his record move to the Emirates. After those deals went through, Giroud was free to join Chelsea.
Giroud is the perfect option for Chelsea, with Alvaro Morata struggling in recent weeks they desperately searched for a striker. Linked at one time with both Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, this worked out pretty well for the blues.
However, it did make for interesting viewing on BBC’s Match of the Day last night.
