Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Ian Wright has been discussing Eddie Nketiah after his brace for Arsenal against Manchester United at the weekend.
Nketiah enjoyed what may well turn out to be a career-defining performance against the Red Devils at the weekend, and Wright believes that this showing could well take him to another level.
Indeed, the pundit says that these two goals may well take Nketiah to a different place mentally, stating that he might just change the way he thinks after netting a brace in a game like this.

Nketiah’s transformative showing
Wright spoke about the striker
“He has surprised me a little bit. I was delighted when he signed. When he signed the contract I was delighted. I thought that Jesus would play, but he had to at some point get into the team and prove his worth because Arsenal were willing to pay him for five years,” Wright said.
“He’s got his chance now because of Jesus, and if we’re being totally honest he’s taken it. For him to take those two in a game of that stature, that’s going to take him somewhere else in the way he’s thinking. He has surprised me, but his all-round game has improved, everything has improved.”
He’s arrived
For years it’s felt like Eddie Nketiah has threatened to become a top player for Arsenal, and now, he may finally have arrived.
Indeed, this may be the star-making performance that Nketiah has been waiting his whole life for, and as Wright says, he may think about this sport entirely differently from now on.
Not only has he proven to everyone else what he can do, he’s proven to himself that he has what it takes to make it at the top level.
Nketiah might just kick on from here and become a star for Arsenal.
