David James has praised Eric Dier for being a ‘great ambassador’ for Tottenham after his comments about Harry Kane and Nuno Espirito Santo, as he told Sky Sports News (14/10/21 at 11:20 am)
There has been a lot of pressure on Nuno from the get-go at Tottenham, whilst Kane is yet to get off the mark this season in the Premier League.
But all of that hasn’t worried Dier one bit because he told Sky Sports that Kane will get his engine going again and he is someone ‘every since I arrived’ that has been questioned.
He also made it clear that ‘every manager is different’, in regards to Nuno, and part of the Tottenham players ‘journey’ they will ‘learn’ from him and they ‘understand’ what he wants, as he told Sky Sports.
Former England goalkeeper James loved what he was hearing from the centre-back, who has been a regular under Nuno this season.
“From the way he was speaking, he’s a great ambassador for that football club, isn’t he?” said James. “No problems. And things are going to get better.
“Like Harry Kane, he is one of these players who is an intrinsic part of Tottenham’s fabric and very much needed if Spurs are going to achieve what Nuno is trying to set out to do.
“And to get Tottenham challenging for the Champions League qualification and success.”

It didn’t help Kane’s cause that he went on England duty and his performances didn’t exactly improve.
The England captain was subbed ten minutes from time as Gareth Southgate’s side recorded a 1-1 draw against Hungary at Wembley in their final game.
To take off one of your main goalscorers when you are searching for a goal, says a lot as to where Kane currently is.
But he has a great chance to spoil Newcastle’s party on Sunday, because the tide is in favour of the North London club and more expected of the now cash-rich, yet winless Magpies.
