Andy Gray slammed Luke Ayling on beIN SPORTS (02/11/20 at 10:05 pm) last night for his ‘ridiculous’ dive during Leeds United’s 4-1 defeat to Leicester City.

The former Sky Sports pundit stated that Ayling’s dive is the ‘best I have seen this season’ as he even mocked him for his actions and labelled the dive as a ‘beauty’.

The incident happened in the second half and the 29-year-old wasn’t booked for his actions despite going down without any contact inside the penalty area.

Once the game had concluded at Elland Road, former Scotland striker Gray made it clear that Ayling should have gone into the referee’s book.

“I mean Luke Ayling should have been booked for a dive,” said Gray. “That is the best [dive] I have seen this season, so far. It’s ridiculous. [But] it’s the best I have seen this season.

“Ayling’s was the best tonight. That was a beauty.”

From the highs of their previous Premier League encounter when they beat Aston Villa 3-0, this was a low for Marcelo Bielsa and his players.

What didn’t help Leeds’ cause is that Patrick Bamford missed an absolute sitter in the opening minutes only for the Foxes to go to up the other end, pounce on a defensive mistake, and open the scoring through Harvey Barnes.

Whilst Leeds did pull the game back 2-1 in the second half, Leicester’s quick and direct forward line was too hot to handle for the Leeds defence. “
