Yaroslav Amosov will finally make his UFC debut on Saturday.

Appearing on the undercard of UFC Vegas 112, the former Bellator welterweight champion is scheduled to face Neil Magny.

He got his career started with 27 consecutive victories before running into Jason Jackson, who handed him his first loss via knockout.

Since then, he has returned to form with a submission win over Curtis Millender, setting up his matchup against the veteran Magny.

In April 2022, Amosov stepped away from fighting to join the Ukrainian forces on the frontline.

During that time, his family home was destroyed in a bombing raid. Despite this, his mother managed to keep hold of one thing: his world title belt.

A video shared online shows him, still in camouflage, returning home to retrieve the belt.

He captioned it: “A belt with great history. Now I definitely won’t give it away.

“My mother hid it safely, and it survived the bombings.”

UFC Vegas 112: key details ahead of the event

UFC Vegas 112 may not have the most star-studded line-up, but it does carry some historical weight.

It is the last UFC card of the year and also marks the end of their partnership with ESPN.

Starting in January, the UFC will switch to Paramount as part of a new $7.7 billion TV rights agreement.
