Aston Villa are due to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers, Reading, Fulham, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers in their five league matches.
With Aston Villa set to appoint Steve Bruce (BBC Sport), we try and predict the results of his first five league matches in charge.
Wolverhampton Wanderers (home) – 2-1 win
A Midlands derby is not an easy way for Bruce to start his Villa career, but a win would really help to build optimism. Wolves have been very inconsistent so far this season, and if Villa catch Walter Zenga’s side on an off day, they will feel confident of getting a victory.

Reading (away) – 1-1 draw
A trip to Reading will be a tough test for Villa, but if they perform to their potential they shouldn’t leave empty handed.
Fulham (home) – 2-0 win
Fulham have stuttered slightly after making a slow start, and Villa’s attacking class should come through here. A home win looks likely.
Birmingham City (away) – 0-0 draw

This will be a real test of Villa’s steel. The claret and blues have badly disappointed their supporters on a number of occasions in recent times, but a derby match against Birmingham will give them an opportunity to give their fans something to cheer. Bruce will be determined not to lose this match, and a close encounter looks likely.
Blackburn Rovers (home) 3-0 win
Villa should have no problems in overcoming a Blackburn side who look vulnerable defensively this season.
