Jose Mourinho has received a defence from an unlikely ally in Juan Foyth, as the pressure builds on him.
Foyth was speaking to Sport when he suggested that the Tottenham boss was actually a very good communicator.
The Argentine defender may have been offloaded by Mourinho, but it seems that Foyth bares no grudges.
He said: “The truth is that when you see him at the press conferences, he tells you [what he thinks] himself.
“I think in the Tottenham [Amazon Prime] documentary he said it, that everyone thinks that he is a bad person, that he always wants to fight. But no, the truth is that with the group, he is very close to the group.
“He talks a lot with all the players. It was a surprise to me when he arrived. Because of course, we would all watch the press conferences and say ‘uh, not this’. But the truth is that he is a very good person.”
Foyth’s comments come at a very timely moment for Mourinho, who has found himself under pressure.

The Tottenham boss’s communication skills have come under fire this week, with the Telegraph suggesting that Spurs’ players are confused by his comments after their defeat to Newcastle United.
Mourinho once again criticised Tottenham’s squad, after they could only pick up a 2-2 draw.
Whether Mourinho will take note of Foyth’s comments now remain to be seen.
Tottenham will be looking to make changes to their defence in the summer, and Foyth may just be given a chance to impress, after being allowed to leave Spurs on a temporary basis to join Villarreal last summer.
