Newcastle United attacker Miguel Almiron has insisted to Sky Sports that Steve Bruce has been a great help to him since he arrived at St. James’ Park.
Bruce has been heavily criticised at Newcastle this term, although it looks like he will guide them to safety.
There has even been reports of unrest in the group, which Bruce has vehemently denied.
And Almiron has now spoken up in defence of his manager and insists that he fully understands his team-talks, despite the language barrier.
“I feel I have adapted well to a new country and a new league,” Almiron said.
“Football in the Premier League and in England is very different to playing in MLS but my team-mates and the manager have helped me greatly.
“Right now, I have to keep on working hard in order to improve, but I’m very happy here in Newcastle. The truth is that when the gaffer [Steve Bruce] speaks English during training to the group, I understand him and the instructions he’s getting across. But having Javier Manquillo, Federico Fernández and Joelinton as team-mates certainly helps.”
Almiron is still learning English and admitted in the same interview that he is taking lessons regularly to improve his understanding.

The Paraguayan has had another solid season on Tyneside, where his energy has been key for Newcastle’s side.
Almiron has netted five goals and claimed three assists across all competitions for the Magpies.
Newcastle and Almiron will next be in action against Arsenal at the weekend, when they will be looking to put further distance between themselves and the bottom three.
