With such an illustrious history it’s no wonder that the Premier League has some of the most elite teams in Europe participating in it. Whilst there have been teams who some people deem not good enough to play at the highest level, every single side has contributed to the lineage of the division. In the 24 seasons of its existence, six clubs have participated in every single incarnation of the league, with the following five having the best records to show for it.

1) Manchester United – 1952 points

No surprises here that the 13-time champions rule the all-time league table, with more than a 200-point advantage over their nearest challengers. Under the tutelage of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devils have dominated English football for over 20 years with a parade of domestic and European honours to their name.

With so many legendary players having pulled on the famous red shirt over the years, it’s no wonder that they continue to be tipped for success every August. Despite their recent struggles due to Ferguson’s retirement, there’s no doubt that they’ll always be seen by many as the greatest side to ever grace the Premier League.

2) Arsenal – 1747 points

Now a far cry from their former greatness, Arsenal take the runner-up spot in this particular league table following years of consistent performances. Although they haven’t won a championship title in a long time, they still manage to secure a top four finish season in and season out.

With Arsene Wenger having guided the Gunners since 1996, fans will always appreciate the many domestic achievements that he’s had despite some of the Emirates faithful calling for his head in recent times. Whether or not they’ll gain anymore silverware with the Frenchman at the helm remains to be seen.

3) Chelsea – 1696 points

As one of the most successful sides in recent Premier League history, Chelsea’s place in the top three is well deserved. They’ve won four league titles in the last 11 years following the introduction of owner Roman Abramovich and they don’t show any signs of slowing down in the next few years.

Even before that they’ve still been a member of the division since its inception in 1992 which is something that people may forget. With new manager Antonio Conte leading this new squad of superstars, it may not be long before the Blues overtake rivals Arsenal in the overall standings.

4) Liverpool – 1601 points

They may well be known as the biggest English side not to win the Premier League, but that doesn’t mean Liverpool haven’t racked up some big points over the years. With club legends such as Rafa Benitez and Kenny Dalglish having been in charge at Anfield it’ll be a shock to nobody that they’ve had some near misses with the title.

With Jurgen Klopp now attempting to steer the Reds to a top four finish, fans will be hopeful that the good times will soon return. With the club over 300 total points behind bitter rivals Manchester United, it’s obvious that they need to do something big in order to regain their spot at the top.

5) Tottenham – 1361 points

Just over 100 points ahead of Everton, the North London outfit round off the top five as they continue to grow into potential title contenders. Tottenham have had some huge players turn out at White Hart Lane in the last two decades, but they’ve never been able to translate that into a Premier League trophy.

Mauricio Pochettino and his young squad came close to success last year but fell away at the final hurdle, which is something that rival fans continue to taunt them about. Whether or not they’ll ever reach the level of their greatest rivals Arsenal remains to be seen, but for now the future continues to look bright.
