Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has aimed a dig at Arsenal and their chances of winning the Premier League.
The Englishman started in the Magpies’ 2-0 defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side, where they were second best for large parts of the game.
However, Callum Wilson has not held back about Arsenal and their title hopes after Newcastle succumbed to a loss at St. James’ Park on Sunday.

While Manchester City are currently leading in the title race by four points at the top of the table, the Gunners have shown recently that they are down but certainly not out.
Considering many predicted this young side to falter against Eddie Howe’s men away from home like last season, they put out a real statement performance.
Callum Wilson was audibly frustrated by Newcastle getting beaten by Arsenal, as he also went on to say that the visitors’ title dreams are over.
“Obviously it’s frustrating when you’re in the moment, isn’t it? And yeah, we have done it in the past and when you that team away from home and you’re trying to grind a result out, then so be it.”
“They have come and done the same thing and it is frustrating but to be honest the title has already gone anyway, so I don’t know what they are playing at”, he said on BBC Sounds’ Footballer’s Football Podcast.
HITC View: Strange from Callum Wilson
While it is refreshing to see a Premier League footballer like Newcastle goalscorer Callum Wilson speak his mind, it is bizarre to see him take unnecessary digs at Arsenal.
While the hosts may have felt that Arteta and Co. were perhaps running the clock down and making a meal out of minute fouls, to take aim at their title hopes comes off as rather bitter.
Instead, to merely focus on the game and the opposition’s antics, while breaking them down candidly would have been a better approach from Wilson.
