Wolves have been one of the busiest teams throughout the transfer window, and these three players are set to be their most vital signings of the summer.
Walter Zenga
New manager Walter Zenga is quickly turning Wolverhampton Wanderers into one of the most feared teams in the Championship with 13 new additions making their way through the gates at Molineux over the last few months.
With such a large number of new imports there are bound to be some players that stand out among the others, with three in particular looking set to thrill the Wolves faithful.
The return of defender Richard Stearman on a season long loan from Fulham has been welcomed with open arms by Wolves fans, with many feeling that he was forced out of the club when he left last year. The 29-year-old was a consistent rock at the heart of the Wanderers defence and proved to be a real fan favourite after seven long years at the club. With so many foreign faces coming in, it’ll be nice for fans to see such a beloved player pull on the old gold and black once again. After making over 200 league appearances in his last stint at Molineux, it’ll be interesting to see if he can replicate the form he was on when he left.
Ivan Cavaleiro (R) celebrates scoring the third goal for Portugal
It’s always going to be considered a mammoth transfer when your club’s record fee has been broken, and that continues to be the case with Wolves’ signing of Ivan Cavaleiro. The Midlands club have purchased the Monaco striker for a fee believed to be in the region of £7 million, which surpasses the £6.5 million total they paid for former striker Kevin Doyle. The transfer is a huge sign of intent and all eyes will be on the 22-year-old’s early performances as he attempts to live up to the price tag.
Icelandic striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has only been at Wolves a matter of weeks and he’s already managed to turn himself into a cult hero. With two goals in his first four appearances, Jon Dadi has been praised for his hold up play, determination and all-round ability as a striker. As well as bringing over the famous clap celebration from Iceland’s Euro 2016 adventures, he also seems to have carried over his great form. As the season goes on, Bodvarsson could prove to be one of the best signings in the entire Championship.

There’s no doubt that expectations have been raised to a whole new level, and the question remains as to whether or not Walter Zenga and his new look squad can translate their hype into success.
