Ronny Deila is set to leave Celtic at the end of the season.
With Ronny Deila’s contract at Celtic set to expire in the summer we take a look at the three players who could benefit the most from his departure.
Kris Commons
Despite being widely regarded as one of Celtic’s most talented players, Commons does not seem to have fully convinced Deila that he is ready for a first-team place.
The experienced attacking midfielder has been under-utilised this campaign, with Deila preferring other options.
It seems likely that Celtic’s next manager will place greater faith in a player who has already proven his ability at Parkhead.
Scott Allan
Allan was brought to Celtic from Hibernian last summer, but Deila was loathed to use the talented 24-year-old throughout his time in charge.
Allan has shown glimpses of promise in a Bhoys shirt, but he never managed to force his way into the Glasgow side’s starting line-up.
Allan has made just one start in the Scottish Premiership this season, and that total will surely increase under the next boss.
Nir Biton
The Israeli midfielder improved hugely under Deila’s guidance, but his career seems to have stalled in recent months.
Biton has not been as influential for Celtic of late, and it could be that a fresh start benefits him more than most.
