After Garry Monk’s resignation as Leeds United boss today, we take a look at the three biggest losers from his departure.

Chris Wood

Wood has enjoyed the best season of his career under Monk’s tenure.

The New Zealand international scored 30 goals for Leeds this term, with Monk bringing out the very best in him.

With Monk now gone from Elland Road though, Wood’s chances of repeating the trick next season could be knocked.

Ronaldo Vieira

Vieira only just signed a new four-year deal with Leeds yesterday, and he looked to be a majorly important part of Monk’s plans.

Monk has shown great faith in the youngster this season, playing him on regular occasions.

However, Vieira will now have to hope that Leeds’ next manager will have just as much faith in youth as Monk.

Luke Ayling

Ayling was brought to Leeds by Monk, and the 38-year-old boss was clearly a huge fan of the defender.

Monk knew exactly how to get the best out of Ayling, with the full-back being one of Leeds’ most important players this season.

However, Ayling has not always been a stand out player at Championship level, and with a new manager in charge there could be question marks asked over how well he will perform.
