There are currently more than 110 Premier League players out on loan across other domestic and international clubs, with Chelsea leading the way having sent out 38 of their players.

Manchester City come in second with a mere 17 while Swansea come in third with 11.

Although not all loan spells work out for the receiving team – with Wilfried Bony disappointing for Stoke and Loic Remy out injured for Crystal Palace – there are some players who are making the most of their time away.

Here’s three of the best performers out on loan from their Premier League clubs…

Kyle Bartley

After a steady start to the season, Leeds United fans took their time warming to Kyle Bartley who came to the club on loan from Swansea City.

The club have now won four of their last five matches and fans are feeling much more positive about their Championship campaign.

The 25-year-old defender has played his part, starting all eleven games and getting on the scoresheet twice, against Blackburn and Barnsley.

Bartley also has an assist to his name, has completed 83 per cent of his passes and has helped Leeds keep five clean sheets since pairing up with Pontus Jansson at the back of United’s squad.

Aaron Mooy

Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy is on loan from Manchester City and has been invaluable for Championship leaders Huddersfield Town.

Mooy has made all eleven appearances for the Terriers, winning Man of the Match in his first Championship game against Brentford.

The 25-year-old was on international duty for Australia just days before the derby with Leeds United but showed no signs of jetlag.

Instead Mooy ran the game from mid-pitch with his superior passing range and netted the winning goal for Town, bagging a morale-boosting derby victory for his team.

Tammy Abraham

Bristol City’s Tammy Abraham is the Championship’s current top goal scorer, having found the back of the net an incredible nine times in his eleven appearances for the club.

Abraham, who is one of the 38 players on loan from Chelsea, has scored a total of 11 goals with two assists across all competitions and was Man of the Match on three occasions.

The 19-year-old forward has made himself invaluable to the squad, almost single-handedly keeping Bristol in the EFL Cup by scoring in extra time against Scunthorpe and sneaking a 90th minute winner against Fulham to take his team to the fourth round.

Lee Johnson has joked that if there was any chance Tammy could stay permanently, he’d personally start the whip round but chances are this young player is going straight back to the Premier League as soon as possible.
