Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Bruno Guimaraes has been speaking about his style of play and the way many Brazilians play football.
Samba style, Joga Bonito, showboating, call it whatever you like, for generations Brazilian players have been known to be amongst the showiest and tricky players in football, from Pele to Ronaldinho all the way to Neymar.
Guimaraes notes that many Brazilian players do have the ability to play in this way, naming two examples from Arsenal – Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian tricksters
Guimaraes was asked where his style of play comes from and he pointed towards the two Arsenal stars as similar players.
“This comes from the favelas in Brazil. We play in the streets every time,” Guimaraes said.
“It’s the technique, it’s the dribbling, it’s ‘never be afraid’. I always try to do something different to change a game.
“Many Brazilians have this skill; Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus. I told you before that the Premier League is the most difficult league in the world. When you have some skills, it can help you.”
Flair players
It’s fair to say that each of Guimaraes, Martinelli and Jesus are cut from the same cloth. Indeed, they are all very much flair players.
Even if you didn’t know which part of the world these three hailed from you’d be able to have a very good guess just by watching them on the pitch.
They all play in such a quote-on-quote ‘Brazilian’ way, and they’re absolutely thriving in the Premier League.
Players like this are why Brazil are deemed to be such a threat at the upcoming World Cup and why they have a great chance of winning their sixth title.
