Flavio Cobolli has enjoyed the best season of his career on the ATP Tour so far.
The Italian has risen to world number 22, winning his first two ATP Tour titles in Hamburg and Bucharest, strengthening his case as one of the finest young talents on the Tour today.
The greatest moment of the 23-year-old’s career so far came in November this year, when he played a central role in Italy’s Davis Cup triumph.
Cobolli, born in Florence, Italy, won all three of his singles matches on the way to the title in Bologna.
Following his country’s success, the Italian has decided to get a rather heartwarming tattoo.

On the Che tempo che fa couch [an Italian television programme], Cobolli revealed a very special piece of artwork on his body.
The Italian now has a tattoo of the Davis Cup trophy above his right ankle.
It is hardly surprising given what Cobolli achieved in Bologna. The Italian star was instrumental in his country’s success alongside Matteo Berrettini.
In the semi-finals, Cobolli defeated Belgium’s Zizou Bergs to secure the tie, winning a 32-point tiebreak to seal the contest.
In the final, Cobolli fought from a set down against Jaume Munar, securing a 2-0 win over Spain and winning Italy’s third successive Davis Cup title. Cobolli defeated Munar 1-6, 7-6, 7-5.
How did Cobolli react after winning the Davis Cup?
Following his victory over Munar, Cobolli was understandably ecstatic.
He said: “I think I was a bit nervous at the start of the match. This trophy means a lot to me. I was a bit tense. But in the end, I tried to play my game, to draw energy from the bench and from the crowd.
“I tried to stay positive at the start of the second set, but it’s not easy to play this kind of match.
“Yes, in the end, I am really happy because I played my best tennis at the crucial moment. It’s the most beautiful day of my life.”
