Speaking to the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Allan Saint-Maximin has been discussing who the strongest player at Newcastle United is.

The Magpies’ squad is full of players you wouldn’t want to challenge in an arm wrestle. Joelinton looks like he’s a regular in the gym, Sven Botman looks like he’s no stranger to the weight room, while Dan Burn is an absolute mammoth of a man.

However, Saint-Maximin says that there is another player who is even stronger than any of the aforementioned players.

Indeed, the winger claimed that Jamaal Lascelles is the strongest player at the club.

Lascelles’ strength

Saint-Maximin named the Newcastle captain as the strongest player in the team.

“Who is the strongest player at the club?” Saint-Maximin was asked.

“The strongest player would be Jamaal Lascelles,” Saint-Maximin said.

So strong

The fact that Lascelles is reportedly stronger than the likes of Burn, Joelinton and Botman manes that he must be seriously strong.

You only have to watch Newcastle United to know that they’re one of the most physically imposing teams in the Premier League, and Lascelles is apparently the top dog when it comes to strength.

We’d pay good money to see Lascelles go shoulder-to-shoulder with a player like Dan Burn, because it’s hard to believe that any Premier League player, nevermind Newcastle player, is stronger than the 6ft 7 former Brighton defender.

Unfortunately, we’ve not been able to see Lascelles showcase his strength all that often this season as he’s spent the majority of the campaign out of the starting XI, but in games where Newcastle are in desperate need of a physical presence at the back, it sounds as though Lascelles is the man for the job.
