Celtic secured a second consecutive Premiership win with the minimum of fuss against Ross County this evening.

The 2-0 win was a reversal of last month’s shock Betfred Cup result, and it meant the champions have now gone five games unbeaten in all competitions.

It might not have been a particularly stylish performance from Neil Lennon’s men against the Staggies, but they were rarely troubled.

Rangers’ 3-0 win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park means the gap remains 16 points at the top of the table.

Here are the key images from tonight’s victory.

Conor Hazard was unconvincing in the first 120 minutes of Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts, but he went on to pull off two crucial saves in the penalty shootout.

He kept his place in the starting lineup, with £5m summer signing Vasilis Barkas again named on the bench.

Although the gap remains significant at the top of the table, every victory allows Celtic to gain momentum after a troubled first few months of the season.

Former Celtic player John Hughes was in the away dugout, taking charge of Ross County for the first time following Stuart Kettlewell’s dismissal.

Celtic were dominant in the early stages, and made the breakthrough after 24 minutes.

David Turnbull has been on a fine run of form, and the midfielder put Celtic in front when he converted Jeremie Frimpong’s cutback.

Scott Brown picked up an injury at Hampden on Sunday, and watched his team-mates go in 1-0 up at half-time.

Their advantage was doubled after 61 minutes.

Leigh Griffiths was handed a rare start, and made it count with an excellent header after being found by Ryan Christie.

Griffiths was replaced by Albian Ajeti nine minutes from time, and could be satisfied with his night’s work.

Neil Lennon’s side were rarely troubled, in a significantly less nervy encounter than their last match against the Staggies.

It ended 2-0 at Celtic Park, and Lennon’s men now turn their attention to Sunday’s away match against Hamilton Accies.
