It was a game however they will feel was there for the taking, but Christian Benteke’s missed penalty cost them dearly.
Once again Palace fans would have been scratching their head at what was a tame effort from 12 yards from the Belgian.

It was a poor effort and Palace must make Frenchman Yohan Cabaye the club’s main penalty taker.
The stats are basic and there for all to see.
From Benteke’s 17 career penalty attempts he has managed to score 11 and miss six.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman’s record from the spot is far more impressive.

Cabaye has taken 18 penalties in his career, missing just two – unfortunately both of those coming as a Crystal Palace player.
But that record is extremely good and much better than that of Benteke.
Sam Allardyce would be making the right call if he decided to give Cabaye the duties from the penalty spot on a regular basis and leave Benteke licking his wounds.
