Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Fabinho has been previewing the Reds’ upcoming game against Leeds United this weekend.

The Brazilian is set to play in front of Leeds fans for the first-time, and while he’s never experienced a packed-out Elland Road, he’s seemingly well aware of how raucous the atmosphere will be.

Indeed, Fabinho says that fans will help Leeds reach the next level against Liverpool, but he says that the Reds will relish playing in such an atmosphere.

What’s been said?

Fabinho was speaking about Leeds.

“Leeds are a really intense team, a really good team. We played there last year without supporters and without fans in it was really tough. It was a tough game, it was 1-1,” he said.

“We know their qualities and I think with the fans it will be something more for them. But, as I said, almost all the games are hard and tough in the Premier League. We want to go there and win the game.”

Fabinho added: “This atmosphere sometimes helps us as well, even if it’s an away game. When the crowd is really participating in the game, this is good for the spectacle, so we like these types of games.

“It’s not easy to play against a team like Leeds but we have to be ready for everything.”

Huge game

This should be an absolutely fantastic match.

Leeds and Liverpool put on a spectacle last season as the Reds won 4-3 on the opening day, and this is the biggest game Elland Road has seen since fans were welcomed back.

The Whites should be buoyed by the incredible support they’ll receive, while Fabinho says the Merseyside club will be well up for this one if it’s played in a hostile atmosphere.

All signs point towards this one being a fantastic fixture.
