Tottenham need to re-establish their identity.

Tottenham Hotspur’s draw at Everton continued a very unimpressive run of away form.
Spurs are still looking for their first away victory of the season in all competitions.
In the Premier League they have three draws and three losses from six away games.
Spurs have won just three of 11 matches in the Premier League this season, lost their only Carabao Cup game, and won one of three Champions League games.
For a team which entered the season dreaming of a title challenge, its far from good enough.
So how do Spurs get back on track?
It’s easier said than done, but the answer lies with Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff.

Put simply, Tottenham have lost their identity, they no longer play with the same intensity Pochettino’s teams did in his first 2-3 seasons at the club.
It is easy to just point blame at serial under performers like Christian Eriksen and Serge Aurier.
Swapping them out and adding new faces into the same system may only bring marginal improvement.
Tottenham need to overhaul their whole approach, which means a return to the pressing game Pochettino first implemented.
This made Tottenham hard to play against and presented difficulties for teams, wearing them down.
The 2019 version of Tottenham are not playing with the same intensity.
Is this because Pochettino has gone away from the system, or have the players simply stopped buying in?
The Spurs manager needs to find a solution and getting back to the style which made his initial stint in charge a success is the key to doing that.
If his current group of players won’t listen to him, then he needs to phase them out and bring in new faces.
At the moment Spurs are lacking an identity and their results are simply average. The supporters demand better.
